It’s all about the heather…

“It was all about the heather last night. The Ling heather is now out around Dunkery and Whitstones so the moor is looking beautiful and smelling amazing too.”

Morning hike on Exmoor

“Beautiful hike this morning, starting at Ashcombe carpark Simonsbath, just up from the Exmoor Forest Inn, heading up through Birchcleave Woods the highest Beech woodland in England and in my opinion some of the finest ancient Beech trees on Exmoor, heading on up to Picked Stones we got ambushed by 40+ young frisky, fearless / inquisitive and healthiest cattle around. Belle was terrified so I let her go, still laughing, she did the 400 metres to safety in world record time, dropped down to Cow Castle and back up the Barle, the smell of the rain after the dry spell was something else.. Belle will be having nightmares of 40 tons of beef chasing her 😄 the last pic was at the other side of the massive field 😄”
