The Barle. A soggy but beautiful walk from Lanacre via Pickedstones to Simonsbath and back along the valley.
By Irene Perrett.

From Selworthy to Bratton to see swallows, North Hill, then the lower coast path to Selworthy Beacon. We watched a plane come along the valley below us (just visible in the photo) and then walked back down through the woods. A couple of adders basking in the warmth, first I’ve seen this year.

What a difference a day makes in the weather! These were taken Tuesday and yesterday midday. I’m sure that when stags are in velvet they seem less concerned about people, as all of these were taken very close to the houses. Beautiful to watch.

The Bluebell is the sweetest flower
That waves in summer air:
Its blossoms have the mightiest power
To soothe my spirit’s care.

“Family bluebell walk, sunshine between the showers today on Winsford Hill, one of our all time favourite places.”
What an incredible sky with the sunset tonight over the Channel.
