Limited Prints by local artist Sharon Plant are now available in the Exmoor Store
Living on a farm, surrounded by the landscape of Exmoor, wildlife and farming activities, where deer and sheep roam freely, is an inspiration for Sharon Plant.
Sharon is a pointillist painter: Pointillism is the technique of applying small, regular dabs of unmixed colour to the picture surface, relying on scientific theories, such as the precise combination of complementary colours – red/green, orange/blue, yellow/violet. Pioneered in the 1880’s mainly in France by Seurat who used the term divisionism.
These are a mounted giclee print of the original painting printed on Hahnemuhle William Turner high quality matte paper and is sent ready to frame with a mount and backboard. The print is signed by the artist and numbered from a limited edition of 50.
Image size 8 x 8 inches, Exterior dimensions of mounted print 15 x 15 inches.

Exmoor Gallery: Impressions from Dunster by Candlelight
Last weekend it was the 30th anniversary of Dunster by Candlelight. Many people came and visited the medieval village in frosty temperatures.
Here are some impressions of the two-day-celebrations:

Exmoor4all 2017 Calendar: May
A warm breeze was gently blowing across the open moorland as I approached with caution, the highland cow and her calf were soaking up the Exmoor rays before the calf nuzzled right in . I couldn’t resist capturing this special moment before passing by, it was just so typical of Exmoor.

I was extremely grateful that I was able to capture this very rare moment of Lynton and Lynmouth engulfed in evening sea mist. It was a truly magical moment that me and my nan shared. I don’t think any view on this planet will top what we were able to see. One of the many reasons why I’m lucky to call Lynton and Lynmouth home.

Exmoor4all 2017 Calendar: March
On the lower slopes of Dunkery, the sky was dense with the black and heavy clouds of a passing storm. It was close to sunset and the low disappearing sun produced an intense golden light in stark and dramatic contrast to the dark brooding skies, in an unfolding drama of light and dark. Enigmatic and wild Exmoor at its best!

I am so thrilled to have had a photo chosen. All the photos were really lovely and any one one of them could have been chosen. I just love the micro climate and the lichen – it is so very typical of Exmoor. It always brings a smile to my face when I find some.
Thank you.Sharon Scott.

Date for the Diary: Christmas Fayre in Lynmouth
NEWS FROM EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK
Anyone not yet into the Christmas spirit should head for the Christmas Fayre at Lynmouth on Sunday 11 December from 10am to 4pm where a host of delights will await them.
The National Park Centre team at the Lynmouth Pavilion ran a similar event in a small way last year which was so successful that more and more people wanted to be involved so this year there will be 15 stalls inside the Centre including arts, crafts, books, pottery, woodcraft items, jewellery and other seasonal items. In addition to these, a further 15 market stalls will be open along the Esplanade outside selling food, Christmas trees, Christmas wreaths, the contents of a seaside gift shop which will be sold in aid of Unicef, a scout stall, calendars, artisan items and a host of Christmas items.
Inside the Pavilion there will also be an elf workshop where children can make a Christmas tree decoration for free; they can also make a Christmas card in a competition that will be judged by Suzette Hibbert, Mayor of Lynton & Lynmouth, later in the afternoon.
Santa will be on hand and children are welcome to come and pay him a visit – the numbers able to do this are limited so places will need to be booked by phoning the Dining Room on 01598 753484 prior to the day. There will be plenty more to see and do with Lyntones Ladies’ choir singing seasonal songs at 11am and 2pm, plus face painting for a donation to Children’s Hospice, a raffle for a £75 Christmas hamper kindly donated by Marsden Devon Cottages who are also sponsoring the event, and a special festive menu in the Dining Room.
National Park Centre Manager Dave Wilde said: “Entry is free so everyone is invited to come along and sample the special Christmas atmosphere. All this is in addition to the normal National Park Centre retail area where there are local books, jewellery, art items, Exmoor Christmas Cards and other local items for sale.
“Proceeds from the raffle and the £5 hire fee for the stalls and market stalls outside are all going to CareMoor for Exmoor* – especially to support the Dormice boxes appeal.”
For further information please call the National Park Centre at Lynmouth on 01598 752509.
