Date for the Diary: Eat Dirt on Exmoor

Calvert Trust Exmoor is running a Mountain Bike Event on Exmoor on 2 May. There are two routes on offer: 25 miles and 15 miles. The Start and finish is at Dulverton. The main route runs up the Barle Valley, crosses over Tarr Steps and climbs up to Winsford Hill, and then down the Exe Valley to Dulverton. This is wonderful country and promises to be a great ride. Barn Dinner
Last Wednesday, Claire’s Kitchen put up a pop-up restaurant in one of the Medieval barns at the Exmoor Owl & Hawk Centre in Bossington. 50 guests enjoyed an owl display before sitting down for a Mediterranean fest of suckling pig cooked on the spit and paella.

Starry night over Dunkery

It was cold , when I took this last night. For people wanting to get milky way shots or stars, it’s better to wait until late March until early September , the galactic centre is brighter in summer. I hope to get a full Milky Way in May / June. This was a 15s exposure at F2.8 at 16mm.
