Winter scrub bash project comences

National Trust - North Devon Blog

Greetings one and all, ranger Stuart signing back on!. I was all due to return to my former haunt at Arlington Court, but at the 12th hour, the secondment was extended and so I am now here at Woolacombe for another 14 months-yippee! but sad at the same time as I do miss my old work colleague’s and the beautiful estate there.

These pictures show the Woolacombe team beavering away down at Hilly Mouth near Lee since early January and by joe it was aptly named.
Several weeks work of scrub bashing in all weathers, staff and volunteers alike have helped and many different types of machinery has been needed to remove thick bramble and some gorse to improve the nature conservation value and promote better access for nature conservation grazing.

This is only area 1 of many, so stay tuned for the next installment of Woolacombe winter mega bash.
